Summary of the press conference
On September 30, 2020, a press conference was held to inform the public of the initial results of a research project aimed at developing and evaluating the effectiveness and implementation of a preventive intervention against Lyme disease.

The project is led by the Université de Montréal, in collaboration with the Public Health Agency of Canada, the Direction de santé publique de l'Estrie, the Cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe and the city of Bromont.

Initial results are promising. They show that the implementation of a preventive treatment against tick-borne lyme disease in the town of Bromont appears to reduce the number of ticks carrying the disease.
